High Tails supports
the adoption of homeless pets in our area by providing space
for CARE and local rescue groups to showcase available animals
at our store. CARE brings pets on Thursdays from 2 to 4 PM
and Saturdays from 12:45 PM to 2:45 PM. We also offer micro
chipping of dogs and cats -- a permanent ID -- for $25 with
all proceeds
donated to CARE.
We offer a Match-making service to families
seeking to adopt a pet. We work with assessment questionnaires
and other tools to determine what kind of dog or cat would
work out best in your household. We then network with local
shelters and alert you when they have prospective matches.
High Tails hosts a children's story hour
every Saturday morning at 9 AM. We read aloud books about dogs
and cats and teach kids how to be safe around animals.
For adults who love both books and animals,
we have a book club which meets on alternate Sunday afternoons
from 1 PM to 2 PM to discuss literature with animal themes
or topics.
With our high ceilings, we're delighted
to offer wall space to local artists and photographers who
create animal art. It's a great place to come if you are looking
for someone to do portraits of your pets or to simply enjoy
the gallery.
High Tails has a conference room available
to animal clubs or groups for meetings, workshops and classes.
We offer the pet-loving community a center -- both
as a gathering place and a resource for information and referrals. |
