Training
“Walkin’ the
Dog”
A 3-session class to teach
your dog to walk nicely on a leash, without pulling or lunging,
despite
distractions.
Starts: Wed. May 5, Fri. May 7, and Wed. May 19. Fee: $60.
Taught by Laura Van Dyne.
New Puppy and Dog
Basic Obedience courses, starting May 25, taught by Sue Schmidt.
Puppy class is for pups 3 to 6 months
of age. Proof of vaccination is required. You’ll learn the clicker method, which
produces amazingly quick, joyful learning – the right
foundation for your lifetime relationship with your dog.
Class meets Tuesday evenings from
7 to 8 p.m., for 6 weeks. Call or stop by High Tails to
enroll – soon, because
attendance is limited! You and your puppy will get lots of
individual attention! To the first class, bring your vaccination
certificate, a plain, flat collar, 6 foot leash, and a supply
of whatever is your puppy’s absolute favorite treat!
We suggest hot dogs, cut into tiny (1/4 to 1/8 inch) cubes.
Don’t feed the puppy for at least 3 hours prior to
class – you’ll adjust the volume of his daily
ration to allow for the liberal use of treats. Give him a
chance to potty before arriving. We’ll issue the clicker
on the first night. Fee: $75
Dog class is for dogs 6 months and
older. There’s
no upper limit! Great for newly adopted dogs, older dogs
who need a refresher, or just because it’s fun. You’ll
need a flat collar, a six foot leash, and a supply of treats – we
suggest hot dogs, cut into ¼ to 1/8 inch cubes, or
tiny bits of his very favorite treat. We’ll supply
the clicker the first night. Proof of vaccination currency
is required the first night. Fee: $75.
